A yellow weather warning has been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office from 4pm this afternoon until 8am tomorrow.
All areas of the Island will be affected, with heavy rain forecast just before midnight - especially over higher ground in the North.
Forecasters say 8-15mm of rain is expected quite widely, with a risk of 20-30mm over the hills.
The southeast wind will increase to strong to gale force this evening before veering southwesterly around midnight and decreasing to fresh to strong.
Localised flooding is anticipated in prone locations, especially higher ground of the north and in areas where debris have allowed drains etc to become blocked.
