A literary event is taking place tonight to celebrate National Poetry Day.
The IOM Poetry Society are asking people to come to Henry Bloom Noble Library in Douglas from 7pm to listen or share their own poems at a free event.
National Poetry Day is celebrated every October across the UK, in schools, libraries, bookshops and hospitals, on buses, trains and boats – all celebrating poetry’s power to bring people together.
2019 is the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Day and the celebrations have run all year long.
This year's theme is 'Truth', and poem enthusiasts are asked to submit a poem, which is either a truth or a lie to be read-out at the event.
Tickets can be collected in advance from the HBN Library counter.
