A major incident has been declared in the north of the Island this morning because of severe flooding.
Emergency services are all in attendance in Laxey where water levels are rising following heavy rain overnight and through the morning.
Police have confirmed people have been left trapped in at least three houses. A rescue operation involving the fire service and coastguard is underway.
A group of elderly residents have been rescued from a property by a water rescue team.
Glen Road between the upper and lower bridges has flooded severely. Several vehicles have washed away.
The church hall at the rear of Laxey Co-Op has been opened for people to shelter.
The advice for residents in Laxey is to stay indoors and to go up stairs if water levels are rising.
