Over 130 free events for Heritage Open Days

Fri, 27 Sep 2019

Manx National Heritage Open Days will celebrate its tenth anniversary next week with over 130 free events.

Each year the Island celebrates its unique history with a festival of heritage and cultural events running over two weekends in October – this year being 4th – 6th and 11th – 13th October.

Manx National Heritage works alongside numerous other organisations to host guided tours, outdoor walks, geological excursions, bell ringing, discussions and workshops.

Events are either bookable or open door, more details of how to book are in the Heritage Open Days programme – this can be found on the Manx National Heritage website. Physical copies are available in the Manx Museum, other MNH sites and the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, Douglas.

Katie King is one of many people from MNH who work year-round to put together the programme of free events – she says that it’s an Island-wide effort, with different members of the community getting involved to invite locals as well as visitors from off-Island to celebrate Manx history:
