Mountain Road closed October 1st for line painting

Highways Services have rescheduled today's line painting of the Mountain Road to next week.

They announced on social media today that due to yesterday's wet weather and this morning's road traffic collision, roadworks teams will reconvene instead Tuesday 1st October from 9:30am until 4:30pm to do more edge and centre lining.

In a statement they said: 'Events such as Tuesday's weather, and today's traffic collision evidences the need to be flexible when we plan works so that we can cope with the unexpected and still complete our tasks. In this case when we applied for a closure to do this work, we also asked for reserve dates.

'In order to complete this work we will be exercising our option to use one of the reserve dates next week. We plan to do more edge lining and centre lining.

 

'The road will be closed at 9.30am until 4.30pm on Tuesday 1st October. Should either weather or other incidents dictate we also have reserve dates of 2nd and 3rd October.'
