Skydive raises £2,000 for local charity

A local charity that provides financial support and assistance for bereaved parents and children with mental and physical disabilities has raised over £2,000 from a skydive.

10 people took part in a tandem skydive for A Little Piece of Hope at Black Knights Parachute Centre in Lancashire over two weekends in memory of two girls.

The group included the charity’s founders, Helen and Phil Walmsley, and Sarah and Robbie Quayle – they all took the 15,000 ft leap for their daughters.

Helen and Phil set up the charity in 2011 after the loss of  their stillborn daughter, Hope-Samara, and have since helped hundreds of families on the Isle of Man who have been unfortunate enough to find themselves in similar circumstances.

Although all 10 jumpers were due to complete the skydive in one session, a fault with the plane meant five had to be rescheduled for the following weekend.
