War veteran is back home safe and well after falling ill

A well-respected war veteran who took ill last week is back safe and well at home.

99-year-old war hero Hector Duff of Onchan was taken to hospital last Friday, but his family have updated the Royal British Legion Onchan Branch to say that he is on the mend.

The RBLOB's Facebook page published a message from his granddaughter Chelsey Hall: ‘Just wanted to give everyone an update - Grandad is now back in the comfort of his own home 😊 he is doing well and loves hearing everyone’s comments! Thank you to everyone who sent their best wishes it really is appreciated x’

We can’t thank you enough for your good wishes, they have really cheered him up.

Mr Duff received over 400 messages from friends and strangers alike to wish him well during his illness ahead of his 100th birthday in October.
