Laxey pan fire a reminder to check smoke alarms work

IOM Fire and Rescue Service are reminding residents to check their smoke alarms are working after crews from Laxey attended a house fire on Wednesday night.

They arrived at the residence in Laxey to find a smoke logged property caused by a pan left on the hob.

Occupants of the building were able to follow their evacuation plan before fire crews arrived.

Crews extinguished the fire and vented the property and checked the area with a thermal image camera.
