Local charity to inform about sepsis

A local charity which began two years ago will be informing members of the public about sepsis.

World Sepsis Day is held every 13 September and this year Mannin Sepsis will be hosting stands at Nobles Hospital and Ramsey Cottage Hospitals with more information about spotting the signs of sepsis.

They’ve been sending-out information leaflets to 38,000 houses and 2,500 offices via the Post Office - funded from donations raised during the Parish Walk.

Mannin Sepsis is ran by volunteers Dee Struthers and Ali Thomas, who have both been affected by sepsis.

Dee’s daughter Ann passed away from the illness when she was 18-years-old. She says the charity has taken a different approach to spreading the word about sepsis this year:
