Manx Gas has announce it will scrap banding charges from January next year.
The system, which was brought in 3 years ago, has a banded system ranging from 50p a day to 213p a day.
From 1 January 2020 the system will revert back to the old 16p-a-day standing charge.
An opt-out of the banding system was introduced in February this year, after numerous protests were held outside of Manx Gas’ headquarters in Douglas.
Group Managing Director Ian Plenderleith says that the reason for the delay in announcing the decision is because the company is still in talks with the Office of Fair Trading before a timeframe for approval is finalised.
