Inquest into death of Classic TT rider adjourned

An inquest into the death of a Classic TT rider has been opened and adjourned.

36-year-old Chris Swallow of New Zealand was racing in this year's Festival of Motorcycling event, when he crashed at Ballaugh Bridge on 24 August.

Coroner of Inquests Mrs Jayne Hughes opened and adjourned the inquest this morning at Douglas Courthouse, stating that Mr Swallow's time of death was confirmed at 11:30am after the crash.

Mrs Hughes told the court she is expecting results from a post-mortem examination of Mr Swallow - a date is yet to be fixed for the next inquest.
