Membership boost for Ramsey Town Library

Ramsey Town Library has recorded a ‘significant’ boost in new users over the last four months.
There’s been a 23 per cent increase in membership since April, with students and juniors forming a major part of the spike in interest.
It’s welcome news for the local authority, which has recently completed an internal review of the library, investigating ways to modernise the service.
Of the 300 new members collecting books from the town hall, most were from Ramsey, but there’s also a growing number of users from outside the town.
It’s thought the boost is down to new residents, a children’s summer reading challenge, and ‘an element of support’ resulting from rumours of the library’s closure.
The data was collected by the head librarian, Hazel Ault, and compiled in a report by Ramsey Commissioners’ town clerk, Peter Whiteway.
