The Manx Blind Welfare Society Coast to Coast Walk will return for its second year next month.
Walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to get involved in this family-friendly community walk, which offers participants the opportunity to enjoy the Island;s beautiful scenery while showing their support to the Island’s blind and visually impaired community.
Taking place on Sunday 8th September, the reasonably flat and gentle walk will once again run from Douglas to Peel via the Heritage Trail, with an alternative shorter route commencing at St John’s.
The full-distance walk will start at 1.30pm with check-in from 12.30pm at the Department of Infrastructure car park on South Quay – located opposite the offices of the Skywind Group, the principal sponsor of the event.
Check-in for the shorter three-mile route will open from 2.45pm at the village school car park in St John’s,with walkers expected to set off at 3.30pm.
Organisers are hoping to top last year’s number of entrants and raise more much-needed funds for the charity.
