Water supplies reconnected after several pipe bursts

Fri, 23 Aug 2019

Manx Utilities says water supplies have been reconnected to the majority of people in the Peel and Kirk Michael area.

Engineers have been fixing several burst pipes in the area.

A large part of Laxey remains without water though due to burst pipe on Mines Road. Bottled water will be at Browns Cafe, Salmon Centre & Laxey Wheel.

They hope to fully reconnect everybody by 1pm.

Some households are experiencing discoloured water due to the burst pipe.

Advice from Manx Utilities states to run the cold tap that is fed directly from the mains - usually the cold kitchen tap - for around 20 minutes.
