Isle of Man Archer Lesley Sleight smashed the World and European Field Records for both Adult Lady and Veteran Lady Traditional Recurve Classes whilst competing for England at the European Championships in Arnhem, Netherlands.
Lesley became European Champion for Veteran Lady and was the 2nd highest scoring Lady in the Adult Class.
On day one Lesley's field score of 292 smashed the previous World Record for Adult Female Traditional Recurve by 53 points and smashed the World Veteran Record by 85 points.
Day two of the competition was a Hunters Round and Lesley again shot well and a score of 239 equaled the World Veteran Record. By the end of the day Lesley was still leading both adult and veteran classes.
Day three was an Animal Round and Lesley put in a personal best score by 46 points taking English Lady and Veteran Lady records.
The next two days were shot in very windy and wet conditions around Castle Doorwerth. By the end of the week Lesley dropped to second place in the Adult Female Class but won the Veteran Class by a large margin.
Lesley was also selected to compete for England in the Traditional Recurve Team Event finishing in 3rd position.
