Surprise announcement in Port Erin boundary dispute

The row about Port Erin Boundary Extension has taken a new twist.

The enlargement of the boundary to include the Ballakilley estate was due to be debated by Tynwald this month.

But it’s been postponed following an application for a boundary extension from Rushen Parish Commissioners to include the whole of the Estate.

In a statement, the Board of Port Erin Commissioners expressed its shock and surprise by the timing of the boundary extension submitted by Rushen Commissioners and will await a discussion with the Department of Infrastructure.
