There was no snub of the UK Labour party from the Tynwald Day guest list, according to president Steve Rodan.
He says senior members of the shadow cabinet were invited to appear at the ceremony, which takes place next Friday, but were unable to attend.
The full list of Tynwald Day guests has been published and includes MPs from both the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties.
Representatives from the parliaments of Norway, Iceland, Scotland and the Cayman Islands will also attend the ceremony at St John’s.
Mr Rodan says the lack of Labour politicians this year was by no means a deliberate omission:
