Health officials on the island are planning talks with the management at Liverpool’s Clatterbridge hospital to update how cancer patients are treated.
Health Minister David Ashford hopes the new arrangements will be in place by the time Clatterbridge moves into new premises in 2020.
Currently Department of Health and Social Care has an agreed tariff plan for patients needing specialist care, which is not available on the island.
A visiting consultant from Clatterbridge also comes to see patients.
