The island’s biggest mass participation sporting event takes place today.
More than 1,600 people have signed up for the Parish Walk which got underway at the NSC at 8am.
The 85 mile trek takes in every parish on the island and is regarded as the highlight of the summer sporting calendar. 184 walkers managed to finish the course last year.
Richard Gerard was the winner in 2018. But he didn’t beat the course record of 14hours 40minutes and 8 seconds which he set in 2015.
