Police say hoax callers put lives at risk

Police say a number of hoax calls have been made to the Emergency Control Room putting innocent and vulnerable people at risk of death.

Officers say the control room staff were delayed answering both medical and police emergencies because the hoax calls have to be answered.

Paramedics and Police have been delayed getting to serious call outs last night because the dispatchers are tied up on a large number of hoax calls.
