Police warning about prom parties

Year 11 students who are planning “after prom parties” are being given a warning by Police and the Fire Service.

Officers have been told that parties are to take place on various dates near Creg Ny Baa corner.

The event organisers from the schools, who are aged 15 or 16 years, have been spoken to by both services.

Officers say the planned parties have grown over the years, and as such are now classed as “Public Entertainment” and would need an application for a Fire Certificate, with an adult taking responsibility for it.
