Pair arrested for ignoring one-way system

Two riders have been arrested after ignoring the one-way system on the Mountain Road.

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Officers were forced to close the road and block the Ramsey Hairpin to avoid others going onto the stretch whilst the motorcyclists were located.

A 56-year-old man and a 54-year-old man, both from Austria have been charged with contravening the one-way system and will appear in court tomorrow.

A force spokesperson said: "Those who were apprehended will be dealt with 'robustly'.

The one-way system is in operation throughout TT fortnight.
