The Island’s leading tennis player, Billy Harris, now forging a career on the pro-circuit, is gearing up for a successful summer.
The 24-year-old, who hails from Castletown, has recently bounced back from a period of injury and is now playing in the French league. His comeback has started well with success in some doubles competitions.
In June Billy will be joining the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit, playing matches around the world.
He is looking forward to a game against Gianni Mina, who had a high world ranking and played against Radael Nadal at Roland Garos in 2010.
Billy, who became the first Islander to win a singles match at the All England Club in 2013 when he won in the first round of the boys' singles at Wimbledon, added: ‘I am so extremely grateful to Auxesia for its ongoing support.
‘Not only has the financial support allowed me to focus on my training programme but the belief in me from Stuart and the team is a wonderful network to have. I’m looking forward to the tournaments planned this year and an action-packed summer.’
