Ramsey RNLI were called out to escort a 10 metre yacht to safety on Saturday afternoon.
The yacht with two people on board was situated approximately 1 mile off the Point of Ayre and was taking in water.
Ramsey lifeboat launched at 5.47pm following a request from the Isle of Man Marine Operations Centre and arrived on scene by 6.05pm.
The crew of the distressed yacht were pumping out the ingressing water and in full control of their vessel.
It was decided as a precautionary measure that the lifeboat would shadow the yacht as it made its way towards Ramsey Harbour.
Upon reaching the safety of the harbour care of the yacht was passed to Ramsey Coastguard team and the lifeboat and its volunteer crew returned to station.
