Ramsey Commissioners may provide 'bee hotels' for pollinators

Ramsey Commissioners are considering how to re-home the solitary bees which have built nests inside a climbing frame at the Mooragh Park.
 
The play equipment has been cordoned off for health and safety reasons, though it’s hoped the pollinators will vacate the area in the next six to eight weeks.
 
Richard Kaighin, deputy housing and properties manager, says if funding is available, the local authority may look to build ‘bee hotels’ at the park to encourage them out of their current home.
