Driver safety warning due to equestrian event this weekend

Motorists are being warned to expect more horse-riders using local roads this weekend.

TREC Isle of Man are holding an equestrian event in and around the areas of St John's, Dalby, Glen Maye and the Round table this afternoon and tomorrow.

During the afternoons there will be more than 20 horses and riders (both adults and children) on the road. 

Caution signs will also be displayed in the vulnerable areas to remind road users. 

Police are advising to drivers to slow down (15mph max), pass wide when safe to do so and drive away slowly without revving.
