Firefighters tackle controlled burn

Fire crews have been tackling a large controlled burn that spread because of strong winds.

Crews from Douglas and Laxey were called to Abbeylands on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire started as a controlled burn, but strong winds spread the flames over a larger area than was planned.

Crews used off-road vehicles to get water to the blaze, preventing it from spreading further.
