A Douglas resident has donated £3,000 to three charities, after completing a series of fundraising challenges throughout 2018.
Throughout 2018, Abbie Cooke took part in 11 separate events over 12 months, which tested both her physical and mental and strength, all in the name of three charities which benefit Island residents.
In total she walked 115.2 miles, ran 25.5 miles and cycled 33 miles, not including all the training mileage. That’s 28 hours, 27 minutes of walking and 4 hours,18 minutes of running!
‘Cookie’s Monster Challenge’, as named by Abbie, involved a series of walking, running and cycling events to raise money for Age Concern, Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
