New disabled toilets opened in Kirk Michael
Thu, 04 Apr 2019
Brand new disabled toilets were officially opened in Kirk Michael this week by local commissioners.
The facilities were built to replace the outdated conveniences on Main Road in the village, opposite the butcher’s.
Chairman of Michael Commissioners Andrew Berry cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the toilets on Tuesday (2 April), and said he was relieved they’d been completed ahead of the tourist season.
Delays had hampered progress of the project, as contractors had to underpin the building before work could begin.
It’s understood the toilets include baby changing facilities and will open and close using magnetic locks.
