A nine year old boy from Peel has completed a charity swim equal to the length of the TT course to raise funds for a local charity.
Rory Moffatt wanted to do something to help ‘Monitors4Kids’ – a local initiative funding painless monitors for youngsters diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
The devices are not available free on the NHS and Rory was moved to act after his 5 year old cousin Alice was diagnosed with the condition.
Rory had to swim 220 lengths of Peel Pool each week, totaling 2416 lengths – that’s 37.73 miles – a lap of the TT Course.
He completed the campaign last week to supporting crowd and has raised around £1000 for the Charity.
