A court has heard a man accused of a string of sex crimes abroad when he was a child can’t be prosecuted for them on the Island.
23-year-old Anthony Robert Collis, of Mona Street in Douglas, faced a total of five charges, all involving the same victim.
But all charges have been withdrawn, after the prosecution offered no evidence.
Magistrates heard crimes can only be tried here if they were illegal in the country they were committed in.
One was committed in Malta and one in Spain – in both cases Mr Collis was under the country’s age of criminal responsibility.
