The smallest local authority on the Island will head to the polls today to replace more than half of its members, following a mass resignation earlier in the year.
Six people from the village of Bride will take part in the contest today with three spots up for grabs on the board of commissioners.
Village residents Julie Billingsley, Ann Carter, Ian Colquitt, Julie Corteen, Joseph Monro and Jacqueline Turner will all stand, in the election, the first in Bride in 25 years.
It was called following the resignations of Ian Beech, Jim Crook and Maureen Hodgson in January, over disagreements with the clerk.
That left the authority temporarily rudderless, although rates had at least already been frozen for the year ahead.
Bride Church Hall has been chosen as the polling station, with residents able to cast their vote from 8am until 8pm.
