The Queen has formally agreed to extend the appointment of the Isle of Man’s Attorney General.
John Quinn QC, who had been due to retire in May will now continue to act as the legal adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, Council of Ministers, Government Departments and Statutory Boards until 31 December 2021.
The Attorney General offers guidance on matters of law and issues relating to the Island's domestic and external interests.
He is also responsible for representing the Crown in the prosecution of offences and for the drafting of Government legislation.
