Fire station at Rushen officially opened

The new fire station at Rushen has been officially opened by the Minister for Home Affairs, Bill Malarkey.

The new station has a number of modern facilities, including a training room, drying room and storage facilities for uniforms as well as larger fire engine bays.

Chief Fire Officer, Kevin Groom says they need these facilities to ensure they continue to operate a first rate service and provide adequate facilities for firefighters.
