Jersey scraps EU settlement charge

Jersey has scrapped the charge for EU citizens to stay on the Island after Brexit.

The settlement scheme was set at £25 for adults and £12.50 for children - but will now be free.

The issue was raised in yesterday's House of Keys sitting by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.

He tabled a question asking when the Isle of Man's scheme will be laid before Tynwald and when registration would begin. His question was deferred to next week's sitting.
