The TT access road is bad for business, the environment and residents in Braddan, according to the chair of the parish commissioners.
Andrew Jessop says the route is unfit to serve the Island during the racing period, with congestion causing pollution and delaying access to the hospital.
Talks have been held between the local authority and the Department of Infrastructure on a scheme to alleviate some of the problems caused by the outdated road.
The Department is investigating how a replacement route could be created with a two-way carriageway, though no firm plans have been developed to date.
The issue was raised most recently in Tynwald during October by Middle MHK Bill Shimmins.
