New 'Manx Phrases' language book released

A new book designed to enable more people to learn the Island's native tounge has been launched.

Culture Vannin has published 'Manx Phrases' which is a follow up to the 'Manx Words' book.

The book has been written by Adrian Cain, Manx Language Development Officer for Culture Vannin.

Topics included in the book range from holidays, work and school to living in the south and watching the races: areas that often come up in conversation.

Adrian Cain, the Manx Language Development Officer for Culture Vannin commented ‘This resource will be of real use to anyone who is a new speaker of Manx. It isn’t meant to be a comprehensive introduction to Manx, rather it covers the key subject areas that students are likely to encounter when they start to pick up the language.’

The book can be found in good bookshops on the Island.
