‘Slow down in our town’ – that’s the call from Ramsey Town Commissioners as it launches a new road safety campaign.
Several ratepayers have expressed their concern at the speeds some drive through the town.
The local authority has responded by supporting a poster and banner campaign around Ramsey to remind road users to drive safely.
Commissioners’ Chairman Andy Cowie says the town’s roads are becoming busier with its increasing popularity, and regrettably not everyone drives appropriately.
He says the campaign won’t cost much:
‘Any money spent on safety is money well spent.
The cost of a serious incident is incalculable to those involved’.
