Tynwald is being asked to help out farmers with a grant of 1.2 million pounds after the long dry summer.
The cold and wet spring has also affected grass growth on the island, which meant farmers were delayed putting their livestock out to pasture.
As a result a large number of farmers have had to use a quantity of their winter feed and bedding and haven’t been able to replace it.
The poor Spring followed by the hot Summer has led to prices of feed and bedding almost being tripled.
Tynwald is being asked to consider making two payments to farmers, one in November and one in March.
