Horse Tram Events Planned

A series of special events have been announced as the end of the horse tram season approaches.

The last day of service will be Sunday 21 October, the season closing slightly earlier than usual to allow work to start on the Douglas Promenade Refurbishment programme.

Events will include double deck tramcar No. 18 will be taken on two return trips pulled by a pair of horses at 10.15am and 11.15am.

Ian Longworth, Director of Transport Services, said: ‘We have had an excellent season on Douglas Bay Horse Tramway, and after the 21st October all of our trammers will have a well-earned break over the winter.'
