Douglas Council will do its best to help the Department of Infrastructure over the next three years as it starts work on the capital’s promenade.
The local authority has responsibility for certain features in the scheme, such as the sunken gardens, and will also foot the £800,000 bill for a new street lights.
Council Leader David Christian says the scheme has been ‘flogged to death’ in recent years, and is now keen to see it progress.
