Minimum Wage Rises Next Month

Tynwald approved the changes which come in to force next month

Many workers on the Island will be getting a pay rise next month.

Changes, approved by Tynwald in the summer, will see base pay go up and different rates for young workers scrapped, so it applied to everyone over 18.

From Monday, minimum wage will become 7 pounds 85 an hour, working out at an extra pound for 18-20-year-olds, 65 pence more for those aged 21-24 and 35 pence an hour more for workers over 25.
