The world's largest offshore wind farm has opened off the coast of Cumbria.
Comprising 87 turbines, each around twice the height of Big Ben, the Walney Extension borders the Isle of Man's territorial waters and covers an area of 55 sq miles. It has a total capacity of 659 megawatts.
The £1bn facility is able to generate enough power for 600,000 homes.
The wind farm is clearly visible from the Isle of Man off the east coast.
