Raising awareness of the challenges faced by blind and visually impaired people will be the focus of a new campaign next week.
Organisers of Vision Awareness Week say they want to promote eye health and make people aware of the services offered by the Manx Blind Welfare Society.
Events will begin on Sunday with the Society’s first ever Coast to Coast Walk. Commencing at 12:30pm on South Quay in Douglas, participants will continue along the outskirts of Douglas, onto the old railway track and into Peel, finishing at the House of Manannan. A shorter route, starting in St John’s, will be available for those who don’t feel able to walk the full nine miles.
