The consultation to adjust the boundaries between the parish of Rushen and the village of Port Erin has been extended by two weeks.
Port Erin Commissioners wants to extend its boundary to include all of the Ballakilley estate, which includes land current in the district of Rushen.
Views from local residents will be considered by the chairperson of a public inquiry before the move is considered by Tynwald.
A questionnaire has been published on the Government's website seeking views from the public.
The deadline for submissions has been extended until 5pm on Friday 28 September.
