Boat suffers engine failure near Calf of Man

Port Erin lifeboat was called out after a boat suffered an engine failure near the Calf of Man.

Red flares were seen and a mayday call was received shortly after 3.15pm yesterday.

Port St Mary lifeboat crews also attended, while the team from Port Erin established a tow and brought the stricken vessel to Port Erin bay.

The four people on board the boat were unharmed and the lifeboat was back in the station by 4.20pm.
