Police, coastguard, lifeboat crews and the Search and Rescue Dog Association were all called out in the early hours of this morning to look for a person who had entered the sea.
The services received a report of someone going into the sea at Ramsey, resulting in a two-hour search.
The conditions were misty were made the search difficult at times, but the RNLI crews located the person and provided medical treatment.
Police say the operation is an example of the dedication of the Island's RNLI teams, adding that many of those involved in the search with volunteer groups also have to be up first thing to go to their day jobs.
