The Positive Action Group is calling for Members of the Legislative Council to take a pay cut due to their lack of constituency work.
MLCs receive the same basic pay as Members of the House of Keys, despite not having constituents to deal with.
The Group conducted a survey, asking MHKs to estimate how much of their time is spent dealing with constituency matters, and found the average to be 25%.
As a result, the organisation estimates MLCs' workload is 75% of that of an MHK, and therefore their pay should be reduced.
The Group has submitted a report on its research to the Tynwald Emoluments Committee for consideration.
