Fire crews were called out in the south of the Island to tackle a tyre fire.
Thick black smoke was spotted coming from Great Meadow on Friday afternoon.
Firefighters found a bonfire made up of a large number of vehicle tyres and worked with the land owner to ensure the blaze was extinguished.
The fire service is reminding waste producers of their responsibilities, which involved ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
It adds that burning isn't an acceptable or safe way to dispose of such materials, and that failing to comply with this duty of care can carry an unlimited fine.
