Suspected ordnance found to be safe

An item thought to be unexploded ordnance was found washed up on the west of the Island.

Peel Coastguard members were called out on Tuesday evening after a metal cylindrical object was found on Port Mooar beach.

The team quickly located the object and it was determined to be safe.

Anyone who finds an unusual or suspicious object at the coast is urged to stay back and report the object to the coastguard by calling 999.
